Cannes is the beacon town in the Côte d’Azure and a famous international festival resort, where different cultures meet and exchange. This town contains the colour and atmosphere of the street-lamp Arona, designed by Enrico Marforio for Ghisamestieri.

It is difficult to imagine a more enchanting place than Cannes. The variedness of its landscape conquered the Romans, who chose it as their residence; the English Chancellor Lord Brougham, Napoleon, Cocteau and many other important people. They all fell in love with this town, sparkling with lights and with joy for life.

The Technical Services of the Cannes Town Council chose the street-lamp Arona in 2003 to light and decorate the wonderful green background of Place de la Mairie, a place for walking or having a stop, for shopping and for cultural exchange in this lively French town.

Arona is made up of: base and pole in iron casting with steel core, coloured acrylic cylindrical diffuser, optical compartment for decorative lighting and another compartment to house the reflector, the light of which reflects onto the aluminium plate screen, shaped as a hat in its terminal part.
