Borgaro Torinese [TO] | ITALY

Borgaro Torinese is a small town of 13,613 people in the province of Turin. Over the Sixties and Seventies there was a high rise in the number of residents owing to the boom of the car industry in Piedmont. Beginning from the second half of the Eighties and gradually more and more visibly over the following decade, Borgaro lost its connotation of dormitory-town thanks to a different planning out of its house-building, to the renovation of its street furniture and to the settling of new population belts.
In August 2003 Borgaro was granted the qualification of Town.
Financial support in consequence of this great change has been given to several renovation plans for its public areas. We can mention, among them, the lay-out of the town park designed by Maurizio Gullotta and Roberto Rubattino, architects from Turin, who have chosen the Arona Collection for the lamp-posts and the cast-iron benches.
