Botrugno [LE] | ITALY

Botrugno, in the Salento district, was founded by the Greeks. The impressive palace formerly of the marquis Castristas and, later, of the Guarinos, can be admired for a stately balcony occupying almost its entire front.
The Church of Constantinople’s Madonna (at present known as St. Anthony’s Church) stands nearby, in a baroque style as well.
In the direction of Sanarica, the Chapel of our Lady of the Assumption, built by the Fourteenth century and re-built in the Eighteenth century, stands on the outskirts of the town.
In Botrugno there have been installed classical street-lamps mod. QU94 with top-post groups in iron casting and lanterns mod. LQ.
